Cedar Creek.
Some moments at Cedar Creek with my siblings and their other halves on New Year’s Eve, and with my dear friend Bek a couple of days earlier on a 39ºC afternoon. Surrounded by gum trees hundreds of years old; a babbling creek; crows and kookaburras chattering away with their squawks and raucous calls. One can while away the hours like a lizard on a rock. The water runs cool and clear over stone, ever-inviting on these steamy summer days. I savour this precious time, these fleeting moments with loved ones that I will never have twice. I see Australia’s natural beauty with new eyes, and I soak in every minute detail with a heart that feels it is as new as it is familiar.
